Subsequently, that training shall be redelivered every two years. Before this regulation came to be, California employers were only expected to require this type of training for businesses with over 50 employees.

To concise this information into a more digestible format, here is a breakdown of the new California harassment prevention training obligations for employers:

  • California businesses with five or more employees, including seasonal and temporary employees, and this includes seasonal and migrant agricultural workers.
  • All employees must be trained by January 1st, 2021 and this training must be done every two years
  • Standard employees must receive an hour of training, while supervisors must have at least two hours of training.
